Right at Home - Website Modernising a legacy digital platform with a future-ready Umbraco rebuild
Building a modern, accessible digital platform by migrating from legacy Umbraco 8 to Umbraco 13, improving performance, usability and long-term maintainability.
The Challenge
Right at Home’s existing website was built on a legacy version of Umbraco, making it increasingly difficult to maintain, secure and evolve. The platform no longer met modern user expectations and limited the organisation’s ability to improve performance, accessibility and content management.
The legacy Umbraco 8 platform restricted scalability and long-term support.
Outdated design and UX did not meet current accessibility or usability standards.
Content management workflows were inefficient and difficult for internal teams to manage.
What We Delivered
We migrated the Right at Home website from Umbraco 8 to Umbraco 13, providing a modern, supported CMS foundation with improved performance, security and future scalability. The migration ensured content was preserved while enabling a cleaner, more structured content model.
Alongside the platform upgrade, we delivered a full redesign focused on accessibility, clarity and usability. A refreshed visual language and improved navigation create a clearer experience for users, while responsive layouts ensure consistency across devices.
The new site empowers internal teams with streamlined editorial workflows and flexible components, making it easier to manage content, publish updates and evolve the platform over time without reliance on legacy constraints.
